Making keyboard search on desktop behave as if it were a folder.

Is there a way? Having the desktop select an icon as I type it's name, just like on thunar? Google failed me on this one.

xfdesktop doesn't have the type-ahead feature that Thunar does. There is an existing enhancement request to add this functionality.
