Thai language is missing in adding input language

I can't find thai language as an input language in the list.
Anyone here could guide me how to install or methods to add thai language.

Hello and welcome.

It might be helpful if you provided more information.
- which list are you talking about?
- which distro are you using?
- which version of Xfce?

Re: Thai language is missing in adding input language

I think that a distinction needs to be made here between the desktop environment (DE) and the distro (Ubuntu). The DE (Xfce) provides some base components (see here) that comprise the Xfce desktop environment.

The distro (in this case Ubuntu) will package the Xfce desktop environment and supplement it with extra tools and utilities to try to make the user experience more complete.

The utility that you are talking about is called ibus and it is not part of the core Xfce packages. It is something that might be installed by the distro or something that was installed after the fact. On my Xubuntu 15.04 desktop, ibus isn't installed by default. I also notice that there is a package called libibus-thai that may be what you are looking for.

Unfortunately, I don't have any experience with ibus. If no-one else responds to this thread here, you may have more luck getting distro-specific advice over at ubuntuforums.org.

Re: Thai language is missing in adding input language

Try installing the libibus-thai package.
If that doesn't work, you should probably ask on the ubuntuforums as ibus is not an Xfce component.

I don't know how its done using the ibus packages.

If you use the Xfce Keyboard Settings (Settings Manager > Keyboard > Layout), you can specify the shortcut to use via the "Change Layout" option.
