Hi all,
I use Debian Jessie and find that gnome-search-tool is much better with Thunar. And you can install it without any Nautilus dependencies.. For some reason, Synaptic doesn't install it correctly at the moment, but you can install it in the terminal with a simple:
sudo apt-get install gnome-search-tool
Then add it to Thunar by opening Thunar, go to Edit->"Configure custom actions"-> Add new action, and type the command " gnome-search-tool --path . " (without the quotes). Give it a name, an icon etc.. Then click on the "Appearence Conditions" tab and check ALL the check boxes and leave the top field as *
The thing I like about it is I can add more options like file size etc.. and in the search results, I can select all the files I want, not just one at a time. I can drag and drop them etc.. And it's very light weight and fast, so it fits in nice with XFCE..

That's what I use on business machine, where I can use the extra precision.
