Application menu directory Icons missing (after XFCE 4.12. upgrade)

Dear beautiful people,

after upgrading xfce from 4.10 to 4.12 all the directory icons in my custom application menu only show like an error icon.
There was absolutely no problem with the icons before the upgrade, though the .directory files remain unedited. This only concerns the directories I made myself, all the .desktop files i made myself are not affected by this problem.
Is this a known bug? And, more important, is there maybe a solution to this problem?

Thanks in advance!
keep IT real!

Re: Application menu directory Icons missing (after XFCE 4.12. upgrade)

Hello and welcome.

How are you specifying the icon? Can you post one of your custom .directory files?

Running:

gtk-update-icon-cache /path/to/my/icon/theme

...might help by re-creating the icon cache.

There was this bug that was fixed and included with garcon version 0.4.0 (which was packaged with Xfce 4.12), but the focus seems to be on application desktop files - not directory desktop files.

Thanks for your reply. We found a solution already by not putting the path into the directory file, but only the name of the icon image.
Have a nice day!
