Hi all,
I didn't installed Xfce 4.12 yet but what I read sounds really impressive and I can't wait to get the update from my Distribution (Debian). But what I read in the release notes made me a bit suspicious:
"Due to gstreamer1.0 having dropped the mixer-interface entirely, and xfce4-mixer and xfce4-volumed relying on this interface with gstreamer0.10, our mixer application and volume daemon cannot be ported to 1.0 and are consequently not maintained anymore."
So how will I control my audio volume on Xfce 4.12 if the Xfce4 Mixer and Volumed no longer exists? I assume that the panel applet will be gone too.
cheers,
BeS

There is xfce4-pulseaudio-plugin if your distro uses Pusleaudio.
But I also see that you can have both gstreamer and gstreamer1 installed so both of those plugins may be available for some time even if they are no longer supported. Fedora has provided them for 4.12 in the unofficial builds at least.
