Hi,
How do I get new Xfce 4.12 into xubuntu 12.04?
Is there any way? I don't see packages in ppa ppa:xubuntu-dev/xfce-4.12

I assume u're using a distro derived from Debian, then add de PPA:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xubuntu-dev/xfce-4.12
Upgrade:
sudo apt-get update
And dist-upgrade
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

How's that going to work for Debian-derivatives who do not live in Ubu-land?
We're about to open up our repo with it in straight debs, will post when ready.

MX-23 (based on Debian Stable) with our flagship Xfce 4.18.

For Mint, I don't know, but for Debian is it a very bad idea to add an PPA.

Does the command sudo apt-get dist-upgrade also performs the upgrade from 12.04 to 14.04?. I think is not a good command if you want to keep the 12.04 version. I did this to change from xfce 4.08 to xfce 4.10 before the xubuntu 14.04 have appeared.
Thanks in advance to all for this post.

So there is really no way of installing xfce 4.12 on 12.04 without a distro upgrade ?_
Since even the XFCE 4.10 ppa support was dropped for Ubuntu 12.04... (ppa:xubuntu-dev/xfce-4.10 no longer works on 12.04)

If all else fails, ask your distro's developer that question.
