flash video

I can not get flash videos to play for XFCE ubuntu 12 with either chrome or firefox.
I get 'install plugin' message.
I tried 'install plugin', and 'apt-get update', and 'apt-get install --reinstall firefox', then reboot....
Nothing worked. What else can I try?

there are 3 ways to get recent flash on linux

#1 install chrome which includes pepper flash http://www.chromium.org/getting-involve … #TOC-Linux
#2 install opera and the pepperflashplugin-nonfree http://deb.opera.com (only available for 64bit)
#3 install chromium and the pepperflashplugin-nonfree: "apt-get install chromium pepperflashplugin-nonfree"

flash with firefox is just a big fat security issue
