Hello,
I have a multi-seat (three heads) setup at home (debian testing).
Audiowise there is an onboard card (1), a tv-card (4), and two hdmi cards on the graphics cards (2,3).
Here is /proc/asound/cards:
0 [MID ]: HDA-Intel - HDA Intel MID
HDA Intel MID at 0xf0924000 irq 50
1 [PCH ]: HDA-Intel - HDA Intel PCH
HDA Intel PCH at 0xf0920000 irq 45
2 [Generic ]: HDA-Intel - HD-Audio Generic
HD-Audio Generic at 0xf0040000 irq 46
3 [Generic_1 ]: HDA-Intel - HD-Audio Generic
HD-Audio Generic at 0xd0040000 irq 47
4 [HVR950Q ]: USB-Audio - HVR-950Q
Hauppauge HVR-950Q at usb-0000:00:1d.0-1.3.4, high speed
The problem is that cards 2 and 3 have the same name (HDA-Intel - HD-Audio Generic), and xfce refers to the cards by their name (HDAudioGenericAlsamixer). I cannot force xfce4-mixer to refer to the Generic and Generic_1 names, so the two instances in the different heads always default to card 2.
Is there a way to distinguish between the two cards?
Also, how names like HDAudioGenericAlsamixer are constructed?
Thanks, Vilmos
