Hi,
Whenever I open a text file in the file manager (Thunar), a new instance of Mousepad opens, showing the file. When I open multiple files, it will open them all in a single window with a tab for each text file. But then, when I open a single file again... it does that in a new window/instance.
I'd like for Mousepad to just open this text file as a new tab in the existing instance. Is there any way to force this (like a command line flag)?

Currently, it can't be done. I was thinking the same would be a nice feature and your post prompted me to create a feature request. Lets see if it gets some traction.

I see. Thanks for the info, and thank you very much for creating the feature request.

For anyone on Xubuntu 20.04, this feature was implemented in version 0.4.90 of Mousepad (released in 2020-11-20). We have got to wait until 22.04 comes out, upgrade to Impish or compile from source.
