What is the best software to manage photos on Xubuntu ?

Hi, I am fairly new to linux and have just installed Xubuntu 14.04 on an old laptop with only 1GB or RAM and Intel(R) CPU T2050 @ 1.60GHz. The default software is Ristretto but doesn't show large enough icons.

I was wondering what is the best software to manage my photo library, just want to move photos easily, show a reasonable sized icon and be able to rotate them if required. That's all I need.  Anything else would be a bonus.  Any suggestions?

"View >> Thumbnail Size" to change the size of the thumbnails.

We've had good luck with mirage on low-resource machines.

I'm on Xubuntu 14.04 as well and I use Mirage for scrolling with the mouse wheel in fullscreen view and Fotoxx for thumbnail image browser view and some basic manipulating functions.

Give XnViewMP a try. It's not as light as Mirage, but if it runs well on your system, you'll love it.

Darktable is a pretty image library software.
