Thunar - file transfer speed
Hello, I would love to see how fast I am copying or moving files over my drives. Is it too difficult to implement in Thunar? Thanks

So I see I have version 1.4.0. Why doesn't it update automatically? I really don't have time during my work to check every system utility if it is up to date :-]
I have Ubuntu 12.10 and I installed xubuntu-desktop recently.

Every distro has its own update and package versions policy. You are probably using Xfce 4.8 which is standard for Ubuntu 12.10.
Ubuntu 12.10 will be end of life this April so you'll need to start thinking about upgrade scenarios. 14.04 LTS will be released at the same time and it will have Xfce 4.11 (Thunar 1.6.3).
