Creating custom file types for Mousepad text editor

I want to support syntax highlighting for a custom scripting language.
So I want Mousepad to recognise my custom file type.

Is there any way to define such a custom file type incl. syntax highlighting for the Mousepad text editor in Xfce 4.10?

Re: Creating custom file types for Mousepad text editor

Mousepad uses gtksourceview for syntax highlighting.
More info and a tutorial can be found here.

Hope this helps get you started.
