How to open a new file in a new tab with Mousepad?

Hi all

Is it possible to open new files in new tabs rather than opening a new window each time a new file is opened?

If not possible in Mousepad what would be the next best light weight text editor that supports opening new files in new tabs?

Debian Jessie
XFCE4

Thanks

I don't think Mousepad supports tabs. I would suggest trying Geany. It's the editor I like the best that has tabs. Gedit is also popular.

Yes, mousepad 0.3.0 does support tads. I haven't found a short cut key for it yet, but if you chose File > Open or File > New, it automatically opens in a new tab. So Ctrl + N or Ctrl + O would be the closest thing to a Ctrl + Shift T
