Hello From Canada's Rainy North West

Hello
I have been using Linux as my main operating system since Fedora 1.
I have always ran the Gnome desktop but I stopped updating my system
when Gnome 3 came out. I really disliked it.
I recently installed Fedora 20 with the Mate desktop
and it's okay but I notice it is slower than Gnome 2 in fedora 14.

The XFCE desktop looks interesting. I really like to be able to set thing up the way I want them.
Thats why I gave up on Windows when XP came out.

Terry

Re: Hello From Canada's Rainy North West

Welcome.  I've set my goal as "learning Xfce inside and out".  Figure it will take a long, long time.  As you said, I like to be able to set things up the way I want them.  Xfce appears to give me most of what I want.

Re: Hello From Canada's Rainy North West

Hello!
I also live in Canada's rainy northwest. I've only been using Linux for about a year, but I've enjoyed Xfce from the start. I too like to customize my desktop. I hope to learn more about Xfce for many years to come.
