I hooked up dual 24" monitors to my desktop running a GTX460 and XFCE no longer allows me to change themes of the desktop or mouse. All themes get reverted back to default (Fedora 20).
After doing research on the matter and not finding any info that meets what my symtoms are, I decided to do a complete reinstall of Fedora 20 64bit. Everything turns out fine so far, I have everything themed, keybindings, etc are all working perfectly until I get the proprietary nvidia driver installed. These are the symptoms that I have encountered thus far:
Cannot change themes (desktop environment and cursor)
Menu icons are not displaying
media keybindings no longer work
some custome keybindings (like <super>g to launch web browser) do not work (however <super>a though <super>f switch between work spaces, work correctly)
Everything was working before I replaced my two 19" monitors that ran at different resolutions, and I'm currently running Cinnamon without any trouble.
anyone have any ideas on this? Thank you in advance.

Update:
restarted my computer and this time I got a notification saying xfce4-settings crashed.
I assume this is a fedora specific problem.

found a temporary fix until fedora/redhat fixes the bug
xfsettingsd --sync
marking as solved

I'm seeing the same issue (crashing xfsettingsd) on RHEL5.
