Set thunar to handle the desktop

The following commands set the Nemo file manager to handle the desktop:

> gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.background show-desktop-icons false
> gsettings set org.nemo.desktop show-desktop-icons true

But there seems no such command as "gsettings set org.thunar.desktop show-desktop-icons true"
to set thunar to handle the desktop. How do I do it then? Thanks.

Re: Set thunar to handle the desktop

Thunar doesn't manage the desktop, xfdesktop does. There has been some talk about extending thunar and having it replace xfdesktop to also manage the desktop. According to here, this has been post-poned to 4.12.

Re: Set thunar to handle the desktop

Well, my Thunar is of version 1.6.2 with Xfce 4.12 (https://wiki.xfce.org/releng/4.12/roadmap/thunar). Looks like the feature didn't get implemented.

Re: Set thunar to handle the desktop

I don't think 4.12 has been released yet. What does:

xfce4-about

...say in the title section?
