Controlling brightness with custom command

Hey,

On my laptop the brightness panel applet does not work. I wrote a script with which I can control the brightness via command line. Can I somehow make the brightness applet invoke the script or install some other slider applet in my panel which invokesthe script?

You can bind your script on some keyboard shortcuts.
"Settings -> Keyboard -> Application Shortcuts".
