lxpanel replace xfce panel

I was wondering if it was possible to replace the xfce panel with the lxpanel from lxde.

Xfce Version: 4.8

Your Distribution and Version: Xfce Linux Mint Debian Edition 201204

Sure, if you can remove xfce4-panel and install lxpanel then add the latter to the startup apps.
If you can't remove xfce4-panel, try changing in /etc/xdg/xfce4/xinitrc
panel=`which xfce4-panel`
for
panel=`which lxpanel`
(a guess)
