Alt+F2 run command | smb:// or ssh:// not working

I'm trying to make the switch to XFCE because of the horrible changes to Ubuntu + Unity and the upcoming gnome 3 but this seems like some major functionality that isn't working.

I did a fresh lubuntu install and don't get anything when trying ALT+F2 and then smb:// or ssh:// to connect to remote machines. What can I do to get this working?

Try with "thunar smb://" and "thunar ssh://".

And please use the correct forum, this has nothing to do with problems installing Xfce ^^
