Log out prompt

I recently ran an update on Arch and now, when I log out I am prompted for a password.  I don't use a log in manager, just go directly into Arch.  Using a password to log out is absurd in this situation.

How do I remove this prompt?

Thanks,
Burt

Re: Log out prompt

Hi

Maybe a misconfiguration of PolicyKit/ConsoleKit?

Re: Log out prompt

Would you explain further?  What is the PolicyKit/ConsoleKit and where can it be found?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PolicyKit

Easiest way to configure it is to install policykit-gnome.

Re: Log out prompt

Hi

About your problem, it seems that Arch have recently made some changes in how they manage Hal, ConsoleKit and PolicyKit.

There are already many questions about this on the Archlinux forum:

You'll have more chance to solve your issue by asking there.

By using ArchLinux, you need to make some efforts to learn how it works. Their documentation (wiki) is generally clear, concise, complete and well explained.

Re: Log out prompt

Wapush,
I originally asked the question on that forum and the thread went nowhere.  I've already gotten better responsed here.
