start up takes too long

I'm using Xfce 4 and it takes about 42 seconds to ask for my username and password.  Is this normal? Thank you.

Re: start up takes too long

Sounds more like boot up time to get to the Login Manager, which isn't Xfce... after you enter your user/pass is when Xfce startup is initiated.

Boot up time takes too long, about 40 seconds.  Is this normal?

Re: start up takes too long

It depends on which system/distro you use (and your hardware specs too), but 40 seconds from boot up to X.org and DM loading is relatively low.
