[PARTLY SOLVED] xfdesktop SVN 29994 problems

I've been running xfce 4.6.1 for a while but recently upgraded to SVN 29994 and have some problems with xfdesktop. Firstly it draws desktop icons att startup and then takes them away again. My settings are to not draw them at all (trash, home etc). I've tried to alter this back and forth in xfce-settings-editor with no luck and in Desktop settings, and with xfconf-query commands.

Secondly xfdesktop doesn't update itself, when for example saving files to desktop, I have to update by F5.

Otherwise all other xfce apps and settings work just fine on my Xubuntu 9.04 kernel 2.6.29.3. All xcfce is installed to /urs/local and as far as I can tell all xfce apps including xfdesktop starts from there ('which xfdesktop' tells me so).

Could it be some other settings or what?

After much googling I found out I had compiled Thunar without gam support. Installed libgamin-dev re-compiled Thunar and all is OK!

Nope, still having problems with xfdesktop (29994/4.6.1):

But I've activated all desktop icons as a workaround for now. Everything else is OK.
