Hi,
Sorry if this question was repeated. I haven't found a solution searching around the forum.
I have Mandriva 2009 with XFCE 4.4 and want to install 4.6 but it is not in the Mandriva repositories yet.
I have seen on the XFCE Download page that it is available, but I am quite new at Linux and don't know how to do it.
Can somebody help me explaining in very easy words how to do it?
Thanks in advance.

My suggestion is to wait a little bit longer until Mandriva 2009.1 is available -- downloading the installer and installing side-by-side or replacing is certainly doable, but requires (I think) you to be comfortable with some work on a console/terminal/command-line and having a reasonable understanding how Xfce works if thinks do no happen all by themselves. An upgrade of Mandriva should come out end April which will have Xfce 4.6 and integrate into whatever customisation Mandriva has vs generic Linux environment. See here for details.
