I'm nearly sure I made something that made the menu shortcuts appear underlined ( File Edit and so on), because they're too ugly for me to not have seen them before...
They're present system-wide, but I guess it's a GTK thing, does anyone know how to have back the not underlined menus again?
Thank you!

Solved. They're called menu mnemonics and can be disabled system-wide for your user by simply adding....
gtk-enable-mnemonics = 0
... To your .gtkrc-2.0 file in your home directory.

I like this idea, unfortunately I do not have a ~/.gtkrc-2.0 file.
Any ideas how I'd do this?

Oh you can just create it!
Make a simple text file with the options you want and save it as .gtkrc-2.0 in your home directory.
No special header required.

Well DUH! Bruce ... Like this is too simple!
See, I'm always complicating the simple things in life...
... until I learn.
Thank you!

EDIT: Did it, did a [Ctrl]+[Alt]+[backspace] and it works except for Firefox and Thunderbird. I'll have to play with those.
