Sorry for being a complete numpty, but how do I install the unstable version? Downloaded the tarball to my desktop, unzipped and then unzipped all of the tarballs in the folder.
I tried to compile am not sure what I am doing. Is there a particular order in which I should compile each directory or has someone written a script to do this? Because I am not having any luck.

Right, compiled everything, took forever. Xfce will no longer boot, it is complaining about:
libxfsm-4.6.so.0
Can't find it anywhere and google is not my friend tonight.
Help!

reinstall xfce4-session, see if that helps... the build order can also be found at http://wiki.xfce.org/general_info_46#build_order

Thanks for the build order info.
Am at work, pretty sure I rebuilt the session file, will recompile and save the output and post any problems back here.
cheers
Steve.

Rebuilt xfce session, no joy. Thought I had found an Rpm with the file in, but it errors.
Any thing else I can do?

Fixed - debs just became available on synaptics (intrepid-proposed). Installed and everything fixed (except I cocked up the kernel update, got to edit my grub menu, full of cold and caught the sodding trackpad!).

Where in the build order list should the gtk engine go?
