xfce startup problem in Ubuntu

Hello

I have installed Xfce and it looks GREAT, I am more happy from this desktop than from Gnome but...there is one problem, I am unable to launch it from GDM when there is a ~/.cache folder in my home folder which basically means that after each reboot/relogin I have to manually remove that folder and only then Xfce starts up.

I am not using sessions but I do have xfce4-session application installed.

I am using Ubuntu Hardy Heron with Xfce version 4.4.2 (Xfce 4.4). Any ideas?

Re: xfce startup problem in Ubuntu

I am using Xubuntu Hardy (beta) - the "native" version and don't have such problems.

maybe xfce is getting confused with ubuntu/gnome/metacity?
