XFCE shutdown and reboot buttons greyed out (tried everything)

Ok, I'm using XFCE for a while now. I managed to get everything working except the annoying shutdown/reboot command. I'm using XFCE 4.4.1. I tried the following:

- Dbus and HAL method
- MANY combinations in /etc/sudoers (tried from Arch Linux, fedoraforum and many other sources)

Yet, the buttons stay greyed out   :-(

Might check http://wiki.xfce.org/faq#session_manager, it talks about using both methods for restarting/shutdown
