making screenshots

for the time being, let's assume i stick with xfce {:) and lets assume
i get the dang thing werking!

how do i make a screenshot?

also.. what if i am hosed, how do i back out of X to a command line
with keystrokes?

Use gimp to make a screenshot or the import tool from imagemagick or the screenshooter panel applet or ....

Ctrl+Alt+Backspace will kill X

Settings->keyboard and create a shortcut with one of the command screenshooters.
