Trans-smoke Theme

Hey there,

Here is my first Xfce theme. A slightly transparent one. You need to have xcomposite enabled to use it correctly.

Feel free to criticize wink
Hope you will enjoy it

Re: Trans-smoke Theme

Hi Tuxbubling,

Very good window border theme! I love it. Actually, I prefer the version with no buttons. Can you distribute it again?

And I would be very pleased if you could produce an even more simpler version: no button, no title, no icon, nothing. Just borders! I prefer keyboard shortcuts for window moving, resizing and closing.

I saw a theme like that for Emerald. It resembled the Vista theme with transparency and blurring on the edges.

Also, you say that I need to enable xcomposite for the borders to be transparent. I have a bare-bone install of Xfce on top of Ubuntu Server with the X.Org package. Do  I need to install anything else? Like libxcomposite1? And should I configure something somewhere?

And, from the screenshot you provided, I can see a nice status application running over you desktop. Can you tell me how you did this?

Thanks!

Re: Trans-smoke Theme

I'm not sure how ubuntu handle the composite stuff but on a classic config you just need to have

Section "Extensions"
        Option "Composite" "Enable"
EndSection

to your /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Then activate it in xfce window manager tweaks.

I surely can make you a more simple version, does the title border size ok? or you would like it to be on the same size of other borders?

As i'm not really following this thread, you could send me a mail: tuxbubling [AT] gmail |DOT| com

Ps: I noticed your name sounds french, i'm french too, so don't bother writing english if you mail me wink

Edit: The monitoring app is conky
