I am experiencing strange graphic glitches in Openoffice windows in Xubuntu 6.06. The borders of the windows are covered with some strange image. It's especially disturbing at the top of the window, since close/minimize -icons of the window are not visible. I would post a screenshot image as an attachment, but apparently attaching is not possible on the forum. Did anyone have the same problem and solve it?

I've got the exact same problem... but no idea how to fix it.

Ok, this is an old question but maybe this will help someone who searches and finds it..
Try installing the package openoffice.org-gtk
That solved a window border problem for me.

I have the same problem and this package didn't help. The following packages are installed:
openoffice.org-gtk
openoffice.org-gnome
and the problem still there... it's due to some kind of incompatibility between xfwm and openoffice. What could fix that?

I don't have compositing enabled. Xfce crashes when I enable it, so it is disabled.
But xfwm is compiled to accept composite if I enable it.
This border problem happens only to OpenOffice and Frozen Bubble

Mm strange, can you create a bug report in the Xfce Bugzilla? With the screenshots attached and all the other needed info (packages, versions and stuff).

sure, but how would I do that? :?

Register @ bugzilla.xfce.org and create a report.

I removed xubuntu and installed debian with xfce... the problem disappeared! Everything is working just fine now.
Thanx for the help!

Hi,
I had the exact problem. I went to the OOo forums and they said to turn color from 24-bit to 16-bit, and that did the trick.

yeap, changing it to 16 bits solves the problem too ;D
