Yes, I know, nVidia drivers are... let's say... imperfect. The problem affects just some workstations with GP107 (GTX 1050) while switching to a tty (Ctrl-Alt-Fx) and back. I've experimented with many drivers and many kernel options. Sometimes it's better sometimes it's worse but... In many configurations I don't experience those problems with plain lightdm nor MATE Desktop Environment. I have NEVER succeeded with XFCE.
When switching from an XFCE session to a tty (Ctrl-Alt-Fx) and back (Ctrl-Alt-F7) I can see just a blank screen and a mouse cursor.
ArchLinux up-to-date (however the problem has been appearing for many months, nVidia GP107 (GTX 1050), nvidia or nvidia-open or nvidia*dkms (versions 570, 565, 555, ...), Xorg.
I cannot see any error messages in journald, dmesg, X.0.log...
