Where is the config option for 'stacking' program instances

Hi folk, I use XFCE and Mousepad on two different system, Fedora and Xubuntu. On Fedora, when I launch multiple instances of Mousepad in seperate windows, then these are 'combined' in the panel - I get a dropdown that lists the instances, not multiple seperate items on the panel. But on Xubuntu, I get seperate panel items. Obviously I've managed to configure something differently, but I'm struggling to identify what it might be. Because I frequently have loads of Mousepad windows open, it's becoming a bit of an issue for me on Xubuntu. Can anyone point me in the right direction ?

This might be the "Window Menu" panel plugin. Once added to the panel and you click on it you get a list of open windows. Click on the one you want.

Or you want to use the "group by app" option of the tasklist (aka window buttons)? Ctrl-click on one of the mousepad buttons in the tasklist -> properties -> group by app.
