Two Xfce sessions running? [SOLVED]

Hi all,

I'm running a copy of Arch on the main PC now but notice I seem to be running two sessions which is confirmed in terminal. I've not come across this issue in Xfce before. This started when I noticed in shutdown, after the screen goes black, the login screen reappears and then disappears.

I've trying to find an answer but so far no luck in resolving this issue, although I will say it doesn't seem to be causing any problems I can see. I am wondering if it's something to do with my install. I did the old fashioned way in Arch ...fourth attempt!  roll

$ loginctl seat-status seat0

Re: Two Xfce sessions running? [SOLVED]

Sessions: *2

...means that this is session two and the asterisk means its a graphical session. It is possible to get more than one session though (graphical, manager, etc). Have a read through https://www.freedesktop.org/software/sy … inctl.html for more info.

Ah, as usual I'm barking up the wrong the tree.

So any idea why the login screen flashes up during shutdown?

Re: Two Xfce sessions running? [SOLVED]

What are you referring to when you say "login screen"?

Re: Two Xfce sessions running? [SOLVED]

I have seen this in the past where as the system is powering off or in the first half of a reboot before restarting you get a quick glimpse of the login manager. I haven't seen it for sometime though. What login manager do you use?

Siduction
Debian Sid
Xfce 4.20 with Wayland/Labwc

LightDM GTK screen appears very briefly during shutdown.

*SOLVED*

Simple cure, I used Timeshift and reset install to original.

Thanks all, Merry Christmas.
