I didn't have this problem with gnome so I think this is about some sort of default configuration in xfce, I already enabled natural scrolling and horizontal scrolling with two fingers I don't know what option exactly I should check in about:config in firefox for enabling this.
any help is really appreciated because this is becoming so annoying for me.

You need to set the following environment variable (eg in bashrc):
MOZ_USE_XINPUT2=1

Good tip! I've been looking for a solution to this for a while.

Strange. What OS, and how is Firefox installed?
If natively, then it should work.
To rule out some environment variable troubles, can you try the following:
Close all Firefox instances
Open terminal window and type in:
MOZ_USE_XINPUT2=1 firefox
on a single line exactly as is.
And let me know if that works.
(Sorry for the multiple posts. Mobile phone and guest WiFi… I deleted the other redundant ones)

really sorry I didn't read your post properly that's why I didn't answer...
I'm using arch and Firefox is installed with pacman
I did it, no output in terminal and still it's not enabled...

Oh, just noticed that you replied to my last post. Strange that I did not notice...
...anyways...
I had the same issue on a debian install. First, I put
MOZ_USE_XINPUT2=1
export MOZ_USE_XINPUT2
in my ~/.bashrc (and in desperation also into my ~/.profile), but firefox did not scroll smoothly.
Only until I put the same lines into ~/.xsessionrc (which does not exist by default).
Maybe this would work on arch, too?
