Terminal startup is slow

When I enter the desktop, I open the terminal but it will be very slow. It will take more than 35 seconds to fully boot before the terminal can be used

Re: Terminal startup is slow

Hello and welcome.

It sounds like you may have an issue with dbus on your system:
- Which distro are you using?
- which version of Xfce?
- how are you starting Xfce (display manager or xinitrc)?

Check your ~/.xsession-errors log file or if you are using systemd:

journalctl --user -b 0 --no-pager

...for dbus-related messages.

Re: Terminal startup is slow

hi,

I had this kind of terminal slowdown (but not as long and not with XFCE) and the problem was then the hostname (eg. `/etc/hostname` and/vs  `/etc/hosts`).

regards, lacsaP.
