Hello,
is there a way to enable/configure to sort folder & files (e.g. all folders first, then files + alphanum sorting)
in the file open dialog (I suppose the xfce dialog are just the ones provided by gtk?)
I searched, but found nothing real usable. Some folks in the internet point to manually edit config files... but as they point to different ones and these have been old posts, I ask here to get a "definitive" answer
Thx

If you don't have it installed, install "dconf-editor", then run the program and go to org>gtk>settings>filechooser. This is where GTK stores the available settings for the GtkFileChooserDialog. There is an option there to "Sort Directories First". Make sure that is checked and review the other available settings for relevancy.
Note: the Open dialog must not be running or displayed to be able to make these changes.
Please remember to mark your thread [SOLVED] to make it easier for others to find
