unable to stream with Parole, missing text/html codec installer

Hi

I saw that parole says it can stream which I am attempting to stream youtube link.

In Parole pulldown and choose Media -> Open location

input box say open Network location

I input an url I got from youtube, eg https://youtu.be/IISYdeTzLCg

error is

Additional Software Parole needs text/html decoder to play this file It can be installed automatically

whether I am local user or root user....clicking the install button brings up a new popup that says

Unable to install missing codecs No available plugin installer available

I am thinking the words "plugin installer" suggests it not missing an actual debian package like ffmpeg or some debian decoder package but maybe some kind of parole plugin?

Anyone know if parole can stream youtube?
what am I doing wrong if so.

Thanks for reading

Hi ToZ

Your second link for the 10 year old feature request sums it well thankyou.
I hope I do not hurt your feelings when I suggest I will now look for an alternative media player.
I know a number of them so I am all good

thanks for your help.
