Happy XFCE user in Vermont, US.

Hello Folks.
Being a Linux user & living in the north country has me wishing there would be a LUG in or near Vermont - but there ain't any, sadly.

I wonder if there are other members here who reside in the same region as myself ??

Best Wishes to All.

Re: Happy XFCE user in Vermont, US.

Thanks for the welcome message !!

I am a (mostly) retired PC tech in southern Vermont.

Over the years I amassed quite a collection of spares - which are now just sitting around.
I've tried giving stuff away via craigslist & freecycle with very limited success.

None of the stuff is brand new, cutting edge level - but since it has all been verified as good & working it could be re-used by any Linux tinkerer.

There are entire MB/RAM/CPU combos labeled & boxed - and a bunch of perfectly good PSUs, etc...

Perhaps there are some folks here who may be happy to grab this stuff ??

Our apartment is very tiny & I'm not planning to reinvigorate my business, so sending this stuff along to others is quite a desirable idea now.

Thanks for taking the time to read this !!

As a retirement aged man...
I have zero interest in selling things at all - and that goes double for ebay, thanks.

Actually...:

After giving it some further thought & because of the large volume of stuff - after I get it all segregated & moved I could possibly offer it there with local pickup only & a super low starting bid to see what may happen, if anything.

Of course that may also be the 1st & only time I ever try selling anything there...time will tell.

Thanks.

You see, never say never!...
Low starting bid price is the key. With USPS you can get items picked up in your doorstep. Selling on Ebay almost as good as donating your stuff!

Re: Happy XFCE user in Vermont, US.

Thanks again.

Methinks my point was missed though...
If someone even gave me 1 dollar AND came to take away ALL the excess - that'd be great.
This is why I specified 'local pickup only' when I posted before.

NO WAY will I pack up a minivan load of stuff bit by bit & ship it.

If that were my only choice - when I have it all culled out & piled up I could just take it to the local transfer station & be done with it.

The least possible amount of fuss & bother is what I desire.

If it can be of use to someone else - great...and if not...it is leaving anyhow.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not an agent of Ebay...just trying to do the same, as you say:make use of your collected stuff. I think, they have a service, you can send them everything, and they would do the rest for you. You'd have nothing to do. Helping others is a nice thing to do...
I'm done...
