Xfwm4 does what it wants to do

Hello to all of you.

I have three problems with Xfwm4:

1 - when I click on the desktop, Conky disappears, but does not close.
2 - The desktop does not use the cursor theme I set in the preferences.
3 - The placement of the new windows does not respect the placement under the mouse as configured.
Does anyone have an idea to help me solve this?
Thank you.

Which distro and what version of Xfce are you using?

Check your conky config - specifically the value of "own_window_type". Try the different available options.

2 - The desktop does not use the cursor theme I set in the preferences.

Does manually restarting the desktop:

pkill xfdesktop

...make it work?

Do you have an cursor theme info in ~/.Xresources or ~/.config/gtk-3.0/settings.ini?

3 - The placement of the new windows does not respect the placement under the mouse as configured.

Try adjusting "Minimum size of windows to trigger smart placement" on the same tab. Move the slider all the way to the right.

Re: Xfwm4 does what it wants to do

Good evening to all of you.
Well, here I am.
For Conky, I modified my configuration file as follows:

 own_window = true,
    own_window_transparent = false,
    own_window_argb_visual = true,
    own_window_class = desktop,
    own_window_type = "dock",
    own_window_hints = "below",
    own_window_argb_visual = true,
    own_window_argb_value = 130,

For the cursor theme, it was not modified automatically in [c]~ /.config/gtk-3.0/settings.ini[/c]
I thank you for this.

Re: Xfwm4 does what it wants to do

Have you tried any of the "own_window_type" alternatives? I don't use conky, but own_window_type = "dock", and own_window_hints = "below", looks like they could be the reason you're seeing what you are.

Re: Xfwm4 does what it wants to do

Hello, Toz.
The Conky configuration I put in is what solved the problem.
So, since it now works perfectly, I won't change anything.
