Now I know it does not really make **THAT** much of a difference, but I'm little curious as to what the OS and or distribution the devs use when doing their work on XFCE.
Does anybody know?

Hello and welcome.
I don't think this has ever been officially investigated or reported. The majority of Xfce developers do not spend time on this forum so it would be difficult to find out here (plus developers come and go all the time). Perhaps if you are interested in running an informal poll, you could post to the xfce4-dev mailing list to see if the current developers will respond.
Please remember to mark your thread [SOLVED] to make it easier for others to find

my bet would be that each developer uses the platform they prefer. that is common among many multi-person projects. more likely the common needs would be around the build tools like the compiler and linker. and even those should be portability targets, within reason.
