Copy files/dirs to pendrive using Thunar

I want to copy files and directories to a pen drive using Thunar.

How can I do that?

Does Thunar not recognize it when you plug it in?

Re: Copy files/dirs to pendrive using Thunar

I found out that I needed to look in /media/andy/

In their was 874D-7167 which is the pen drive.

After copying the files, I just pasted them in there.

Is there a way to post a picture?

It would help explain things better.

Upload the image to imgur or imgbb and post back the link that is generated.  Info on using the img tag can be found here.

So "16GB Volume" is your pen drive. Thunar has recognized it. Can you not click on it to display its contents and then past directly in the main window?

Re: Copy files/dirs to pendrive using Thunar

The problem started when I could not access my Maxtor drive.

I ran Gparted and re-formatted it. The drive showed but I still could not access it.

I noticed that fstab had no entry for /dev/sdb1, so I got the UUID etc and made an entry in fstab for it.

After a reboot, I could not get to my desktop. :-(

I was close to concluding that the drive was bad as it is at least 7 yrs old.

But I did a disk check and it came back okay.

I did a search and found gpart which analyzes and repairs a disk.

https://www.kali.org/tools/gpart/

I disabled sleep while it ran.

Now I could boot up fine and the drive shows and can be used.
