I have been using this font (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/ttf- … sior-linux) for years with xfce4-terminal. But recent system update is somehow not letting this font showing up in the appearance tab for the font selection. It seems that the xfce4-terminal only allows monospaced font. While the font in question shows up in
fc-list :fixed
not in
fc-list :mono
.
Is there some way to resolve this issue?

This font also doesn't seem to work on gnome-terminal - meaning its probably not an issue with xfce4-terminal. This issue report, although regarding kde, looks similar. There is an interesting discussion there. It leads to https://askubuntu.com/questions/210283/ … 445#725445, where there is a potential solution with a fixed version of the font. The developer doesn't seem to be happy about it though.

Thank you for the info. Like you said, I think the problem has to do with the font not the terminal or else. I've noticed that my system have updated the 'gsfonts' package. After removing that, I was able to use the font I want again. But, I have no idea how these two are related. Though, I think that by forcibly removing the gsfonts package left the system no choice but to use the Fixed Excelsior font. Well... it works for me lol.
