Hi again,
I am trying out Orage for a calendar, because I don't want to run Thunderbird ALL THE TIME, and I need something, that is not a cellphone, that will remind me of things to do (duh!)
I would love to put in all Canadian holidays and special dates for the year. Unfortunately, many Canadian festivities are defined as "5-th Sunday in February" or some-such. There seems to be no way to do that as a recurring date, because I only have these choices:
56-th day in the whole year
2nd Sunday and Tuesday in each month
9th occurrence of Sunday in the year (maximum is 9, 15th is not in the range)
etc.
So, more complexity than I can shake a stick at, but a basic, common need is not being met.
A thought does occur to me that that these things are being programmed by Martians. Why not for once think "real life calendar with real life uses" not "whatever can we come up with that someone can see and say Woooow! Computa Calendaaa!"
What I need is "Yearly" => "May" => "Sunday" => "2nd occurrence"
Am I missing a way to do it right?
If not, should I make a feature request?
Matthew

Heheheheheh... :-) :-( No. That would put it on May 8th this year (correct) but May 7th 2023 (first Sunday, incorrect)
That's the beauty of floating holidays.
I found it!
- Monthly, each 12th occurrence, Sunday only, 2nd.
Hooray!

So maybe a new feature is required.

there should be a more obvious way to see/enter May.
