no bold in "screen" (the utility) under xfce4-terminal

I'm a long-time user of urxvt, but I always want to switch over to xfce4-terminal for better clipboard integration. However, when I use screen inside the terminal, the bold colors are missing. The ANSI codes generated are identical, but the terminal simply doesn't render them the same. E.g, the "xfce4-terminal --color-table" shows the same output for the "30m through 37m" as "1;30m through 1;37m". The "show bold text in bright colors" option is enabled; when I disable it, naturally the regular terminal colors look like the version under "screen".

I've compared all the environment variables; with no "TERMCAP" set and TERM=xterm-256color for both instances, still no bold. Is there anything else I could be missing?
