Thunar where are the view settings (for each folder) stored?

If I change a folder between icon list and compact views I don't see the .desktop file within that folder change. Is this not where thunar keeps the view setting then set to keep for each?

In gio metadata. Try:

gio info FOLDERNAME

...and you should see something like:

metadata::thunar-sort-column: THUNAR_COLUMN_NAME
metadata::thunar-sort-order: GTK_SORT_ASCENDING
metadata::thunar-view-type: ThunarIconView

Re: Thunar where are the view settings (for each folder) stored?

Thanks. gio looks to be part of GVFS, found this with a couple examples of setting
https://unix.stackexchange.com/question … -gvfs-data

Looks like the .directory (I meant .directory not .desktop above) isn't used anymore. I haven't tried any customizing or "ricing" in a while and used to use KDE3 and it had a bunch of settings in those .directory but they removed a bunch of features from 4 and 5 and I've been trying out other DE's
