[Solved] Linux Rice

On forums that deal with customization of linux DEs, I find the term "ricing' is common, and it refers to customizing the look of the DE.  Does anyone know the origin of the term or what the acronym stands for?

Re: [Solved] Linux Rice

I found the following on the unixporn subreddit, and it suffices for me: Race Inspired Custom Enhancements refers to adding useless visual enhancements to cars, such as stickers, tinted windows, air scoops, and so forth, that don't improve performance in any way (read Honda Civics).  The term is repurposed to equate such useless enhancements to icons, themes, and wallpaper.
