XFCE Panel not resizing in i3wm

Using i3 Window Manager, I decided to install the Xfce panel for additional functionality. In the past in Xfce, I had used multiple panels tiled next to each other to make certain applets in the middle. The issue is I can't seem to resize the panels using i3, and even after configuring them in Xfce and reloading i3 it still does not work. Instead of getting 3 panels on the same line next to each other it shows up as 3 full width panels on different heights. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks in advance.
