[Thunar] external drive hidden when mounted to /mnt/

If i mount a drive to /mnt/ folder (what is the default on manjaro) it will show in devices for 1/2 second then gets hidden

Temporarily using /media/, what works fine but how do i fix this if i want to mount a drive elsewhere and make it show up in thunar devices sidebar?

thunar 1.8.15 (Xfce 4.14)
