Terminal opens on host computer only

Hi all,
I am using two machines: one with Ubuntu 18.04 and the other with Win 10. I need to make a rdp connection from Windows to Ubuntu and I've managed to do so, however when I am logged in and try to open the terminal (or any other app), it opens only on the host machine and not on the client. Is this an intended behaviour or am I missing something?

I've set up Ubuntu following this tutorial: https://www.nakivo.com/blog/how-to-use- … lkthrough/

Does anyone have any ideas what I could be doing wrong?

PS.
Sorry if a similar thing has been already posted. I tried the search function but nothing came up.

Re: Terminal opens on host computer only

Ok, I ran the following command on the host: sudo apt-get install xfce4-terminal and after reconnecting to Ubuntu I could use a xfce-terminal on my  emulation.
