Thunar - bookmark root of share

In Thunar 1.8.11, I can bookmark subfolders of shares but not the root itself.
For example, I can bookmark smb://server/pictures but not smb://server

Is there a way to manually add a bookmark to a share?

Yes. Add it to ~/.config/gtk-3.0/bookmarks.
